ABOUT US

TRUU STL, LLC has a long history of helping to shape the character of boys and girls through the sport of basketball throughout the St. Louis Metro Area. Character traits that will serve them off the court long after their playing days or over. When the opportunity was presented to bring a professional men’s basketball team to our beloved city by way of The Basketball League, we had to take swift action.

TRUU STL LLC is excited to bring professional men’s basketball to the city of St. Louis. Our team, The St. Louis Griffins, will provide a high-quality, family-friendly entertainment experience that promotes positive values and builds strong relationships. We are committed to providing an affordable, safe, and enjoyable environment for all of our guests.

TRUU STL, LLC was founded by Owner/Director, Nathaniel Griffin where his motto is “Your Safe Keeping is Our Mission!” 

“Our aim has always been to provide a structured, competitive, life-changing positive environment that reflects hard work, determination, self-worth, leadership, commitment, and the responsibility to become life-long learners, and a continuous contributor to the communities who will maintain a growth mindset and have the culture of giving back.”

This mission coupled with the mission of the new St. Louis Griffins will keep us focused on our goal for the community which is “To reestablish a sense of pride in the community and inspire hope for a better future!”

Nathaniel Griffin:  Team Market Owner

Nathaniel Griffin, graduate of  Harris-Stowe State University is a humble native of and the current Mayor of the City of Wellston and (TMO) Team Market Owner of St. Louis alongside his beautiful wife Lawonda Griffin. In his tenure as mayor he has proven to have the heart, passion, resilience, commitment, and the level of interdependence to ensure that Wellston and all surrounding municipalities thrive. Long before becoming mayor Griffin had a passion for the elderly and youth. His passion for the youth is most seen in his creation of TruVision Basketball an organization where hundreds of young men learn life skills through the game of basketball. Mayor has been doing this for 26 years and counting now. Nathaniel has been a pillar in this community with the evolution of various entities that provided revenue and safety for his city and the surrounding communities, including the North County Cooperative Police Department. Now as TMO of St. Louis Griffins he plans to spread the true definition of community throughout the city with the culture that the professional team will be built around.

Lawonda Griffin: Team Market Owner

Lawonda Griffin is Owner/Director of Infinity Home Health LLC, Founder of Brown Sugars on The Move and currently serves as The First Lady of the City of Wellston. Under my Leadership, I have led many communities’ wide events including but not limited to; Food Drives, Cloths and coat giveaway, Christmas Toy Giveaways, Thanksgiving Dinners, Boys/Girls Youth Sporting Camps and Leagues, Senior Brunches and More. Lawonda knows the Importance of educating others and giving exceptional knowledge, as well as bringing youth and seniors together to prove a great mix of energy and wisdom. Adding to my Life expectations I am now a proud (TMO) Team Market Owner of (TBL) The Basketball League of St. Louis Griffins alongside my husband Nathaniel Griffin.

Brandon Rigmaiden:  President

Brandon Rigmaiden is owner of ASAP Tee’s LLC, director over TruVision basketball and President of St. Louis Griffins. For the last 22 years Brandon has been serving in the St. Louis community through Sports. Rigmaiden has been fortunate enough to have reached hundreds of kids and adults in the community through basketball and baseball from the skill level of beginners all the way to Pro’s. Throughout the years he has been able to show a different way of looking at life through the game of basketball. This is accomplished by teaching dedication, responsibility and accountability. Bringing the TBL to St. Louis will be another way of showing our community that dreams do come true. This is great for our city!

Brandon Jackson:  General Manager

Brandon Jackson, Graduate of North Carolina A & T State University by way of Normandy High School and Cardinal Ritter College Prep currently works in his field of study as a Civil Engineer. Outside of his career Brandon is a serial entrepreneur, basketball and track coach at Lutheran North High School, Emerging 100 President and Chaplin for 100 Black Men of Metropolitan St. Louis, participant and supporter of ManUp STL, worship leader at The Elm, and proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., and now he can add to list of accolades General Manager of St. Louis Griffins. People look at all of the things he does as a young man and often ask him how and why he is involved in so many things. His consistent answer is “I am focused on adding value in every way possible.” So as GM Jackson is focused on adding value to not just the organization but each individual apart of the team so that we as a whole they can be the value and inspiration St. Louis needs. He is also hoping that as the organization encounters young people within the city, they will be able to walk away knowing that your passion can and should pay you.

Sarah Rigmaiden:  Director of Financial Literacy and Financial Management

I am Sarah Rigmaiden, an Office Coordinator for Infinity Home Health, where I serve as a liaison between the consumer, the office, and medical professionals. I provide efficient and timely administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the office. I am responsible for all financial obligations of Infinity. I worked as a Personal Banker ll for UMB Bank for over 13 years. Being an accomplished Banker I was driven to increase branch revenue through innovative sales and strategy, competencies in setting up services, transferring of funds and helping with complex transactions. This is the knowledge and expertise I plan to bring to the St. Louis Griffins organization coupled with my work as Wellston city council member and my strong passion for giving to and helping others.

H Cortez Springer: Director of Marketing 

H Cortez Springer, the founder of Local Biz Marketing Pros, is a husband, father of 5, and proud alum of Wellston High School. With over 8 years of experience in the digital marketing space, his company helps small, local businesses optimize their online presence to grow their revenue. Mr. Springer as head of marketing is tasked with shaping the brand of the St. Louis Griffins as an organization, the team, as well as the individual players.
